Night of Motion Shots
Hey all,
We’re getting into crunch time for the show, but we’re in a really great place for opening. There are a lot of little details we have to nail down to make everything as smooth and fluid as possible but we will definitely get there. Our first dress rehearsal was tonight and went beautifully, aside from one of our actresses getting a freak nosebleed and bleeding on a costume. BUT, our director noted, blood on costumes is a sign of good luck. So I guess we’re in really good shape!

All the graphic designing you see on this page, including our postcards, posters, and soon-to-be programs, have been done by the multi-talented Alex Fredrichs, who graduated in graphic design at Loyola University (our college). We got the program designs in recently and I’m always blown away by what she produces. Dan and I did not want to go into this show without knowing whether Alex would design for us - her designing was as necessary for the show as actors! And it’s really added something great and professional to our production.

The music for this show, originally composed by Magnolia Music House over in Nawlins, is really amazing and adds a beautiful underscoring and a generally cool “vibe” to the show. Joe Shirley did an original theatre composition for a show Dan wrote that was produced in New Orleans, Eternity in the Hearts of Men, and we were ecstatic when he said he’d be on board to design for our show. Joe always seems to give an insane amount of thought to everything he does, and even composing from another city, the music fits perfectly.
This next image is one of my favorites, and was done completely by accident. It was the first time we were working under the light shift for the scene change.

Can’t tell exactly who these people are.
All in all I’m extremely pleased and excited for opening night of our show. This Friday!!! Time does fly when you’re having fun!
