Costumes, Costumes, Costumes
Hello! Working very hard on THE CHILDREN’S HOUR. In just two days, we have our first dress rehearsal, and though we’ve made so much progress so far, there’s still quite a lot to do!

A sketch for Mrs. Mortar’s first Act I costume. This costume is coming along great! You can see my mother at the machine in the background.
I started my process in mid July, borrowing a lot of beautiful 1930s costumes from Incarnate Word. Since that strong start, I’ve been to possibly every thrift store in the San Antonio area, and I’ve found a lot of great pieces. I’ve managed to limit the costumes to just one build, a beautiful green tartan ensemble for Martha. All the accessories and accoutrements are coming together now.

The green tartan blouse, in the very early stages, with some crazy french and flange darts.
I’m very excited about all the work that has been done and is still being done on ShadowShow Theatre’s virgin voyage! Come see THE CHILDREN’S HOUR, opening August 20th!
